A recent film school graduate, Ian combines an emotional approach to storytelling, technical fluency, and a collaborative inclination to the filmmaking process. No matter the role, Ian is sure to bring enthusiasm and creativity with him.

ABOUT

While Ian Schoenfield works primarily as a gaffer and cinematographer, his experience runs the gamut of the filmmaking process. From corralling onlookers as a set-P.A. to driving a truckload of equipment halfway across the country, he’s developed an understanding of (and appreciation for) everything that goes into the final product.

Always visually inclined, and having been enamoured with film since childhood, Ian has adapted to a variety of genres, aesthetics, and workflows in the three years that he’s been working on set. There is nothing more rewarding than getting to really focus on creating images.

For the most part, his personal projects consist of narrative films that veer towards the absurd, while remaining relatively stylistically grounded, with the aim of being able to reflect on our world and relationships.

He is constantly learning and growing, and is eager to build a career rooted in creative rigor and a collaborative spirit.
